The Role
Okta is looking for a visionary
VP, Global Brand and Creative
to lead and evolve our brand identity as The World’s Identity Company. As we enter a new era of AI, you will steward the Okta brand to ensure it remains iconic, cohesive, and deeply resonant with a global audience of Security and IT leaders, developers, and world-class enterprises.
Reporting directly to the
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
, you will lead an established team of high-performing creatives to refine our brand design systems and solve complex brand challenges in close partnership with our executive leadership team. You are a strategic thinker who understands how to bridge the gap between sophisticated technology and human-centric storytelling, particularly as we establish “Okta Secures AI” and
Identity Security
as the foundation for the AI-driven enterprise.
Responsibilities
Brand Evolution: Lead the ongoing evolution and execution of the Okta brand strategy and roadmap across our entire portfolio of Workforce and Customer Identity solutions.
Secure AI & Agentic Identity: Lead the creative narrative for the emerging product category of Identity Management and Security for AI Agents. You will help monetize and launch these capabilities in FY27, positioning Okta as the foundation for securing AI.
Creative Leadership: Mentor and scale a world-class team of designers, copywriters, and agency partners. Oversee the development of all brand elements, including visual identity, motion, digital, and environmental design.
Global Systems: Maintain and expand robust design systems and enablement resources (e.g., style guides, digital asset libraries) to ensure brand consistency and accessibility across Okta’s global ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate deeply with Product Marketing, Demand Gen, and People teams to create high-impact assets for global campaigns, flagship events (like Oktane), and employer branding initiatives.
Data-Informed Innovation: Foster a culture of creative excellence that balances bold, innovative design with data-driven insights to optimize brand performance.
Executive Influence: Act as a key brand advisor to the CMO and the broader executive team, translating complex business goals into compelling visual narratives and strategic brand experiences.
Brand Advertising Leadership: Own the strategy and execution of our global brand advertising and Out-of-Home (OOH) investments, determining the optimal mix of markets and mediums to drive maximum impact and brand recall.
Social Media Oversight: Lead and empower our social media team to create engaging, culturally relevant content that grows our audience, amplifies our brand voice, and fosters a vibrant community around the Okta brand.
Sponsorship Creative Strategy: Drive the creative vision and execution for our strategic sponsorships, including our partnerships ensuring our brand is activated in compelling and innovative ways.
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in art direction and brand design, with a proven track record in both top-tier creative agencies and high-growth in-house environments.
Innovative Portfolio: A world-class body of work showcasing mastery in branding, interactive web/mobile design, video, and integrated marketing for complex technology.
Strategic Influence: Impactful presentation and communication skills; the ability to produce and pitch world-class strategic presentations to the CMO and the broader executive team.
Category Creator Mindset: Understanding of the relationship between business strategy and brand design, with the ability to translate complex concepts (like AI agents and security fabrics) into innovative branding experiences.
High-Velocity Leadership: Experience building and leading high-performance creative teams in a fast-paced environment; ability to drive multiple initiatives with a strong sense of urgency.
Collaborative Partner: A natural relationship-builder who can partner with Marketing, Product, and People teams to create brand assets for global campaigns and major events like Oktane.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in San Francisco Bay Area. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
