Manager I, Engineering - Agent Developer Experience

The Agent Developer Experience team is on a mission to transform how engineers develop, test, and contribute to the Datadog Agent. The Agent is developed by 100+ engineers across Datadog, making daily contributions to code that runs on millions of customer machines worldwide. As one of the central pieces of software that powers Datadog's observability platform, the Agent requires productive and enjoyable development workflows that enable teams to ship features quickly and reliably.

We're looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead our Agent Developer Experience team. You'll directly impact the productivity of dozens of engineers by solving complex challenges around CI/CD pipelines, development tooling, and testing infrastructure. This role offers the unique opportunity to be a force multiplier across the Agent product organization, solving immediate pain points and preparing for future growth.

We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide a growing team of engineers through an ambitious product and technical roadmap. This high-impact role will play a key part in shaping product direction, design, and engineering decisions.

What You’ll Do

Lead a team of Engineers and work with Agent developers across Datadog to define and deliver an industry leading developer experience

Lead the team roadmap, staffing, and culture. Help engineers grow their impact and career.

Lead the Open Source community practices across Agent repositories

Be a core contributor and reviewer of code, lead design decisions, and participate in our on-call rotation

Who You Are

Proven experience (1+ years) leading a team of 5+ engineers with a track record of delivering high quality tooling and software products

Strong interest in improving productivity and happiness of developers

Experience Measuring And Improving Developer Productivity Metrics (build Times, Cycle Times)

Experience With Multi-language Development Environments And Dependency Management

Ability to manage team dynamics, set goals, provide feedback, and foster a positive and productive work environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and functions
