Counsel on user privacy and data protection issues in a dynamic and evolving environment

Investigate and assess

incidents, analyze legal responsibilities, and

Legal And Regulatory Responses

rovide legal support to Dropbox’s incident response program, which deals with a wide range of business issues beyond security and privacy

Advise on cross-functional company projects related to data protection

Review new products and features for launch readiness

Provide sophisticated advice to engineers working on security, threat intelligence, and abuse issues

Requirements

1–3+ years of experience counseling and/or litigating product, security, or data privacy matters

Broad knowledge of data privacy law, information security and cybersecurity, AI/ML, copyright, consumer protection, content regulation, and free expression issues

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to varied audiences

Strong business judgment and practical, solutions-oriented approach

Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Willingness to support incident response outside of traditional business hours, as needed

J.D. from an accredited law school, admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar, and strong academic credentials

Preferred Qualifications

Deep expertise in, and demonstrated passion for, technology

Prior experience supporting SaaS, AI, or other online businesses, either in-house or as outside counsel

Experience Counseling On Or Managing Incident Response And/or Broader Security Program Matters
