Overview
About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to own lifecycle experiences across Instacart: helping new and existing customers discover more value on our marketplace, build habits, and deepen their relationship with Instacart over time.
You will be responsible for defining when, where, and how we engage users across their journey, from helping new customers trust us for fresh food delivery and complete their first orders, to encouraging adoption of features like IC+ membership, family and group ordering, and retailer loyalty benefits, to giving existing users compelling reasons to come back more often.
You’ll use a broad toolkit—in-app experiences, onboarding flows, education, personalization, incentives, gamification, email, and push—to remove friction, address user anxieties, and highlight the most relevant value for each customer.
This is a unique opportunity to have end‑to‑end ownership of a critical lifecycle portfolio that is core to Instacart’s growth.
About The Team -
Instacart’s Lifecycle Experiences Product team is responsible for driving more user engagement on our platform via the ideation and delivery of delightful consumer experiences. The team owns lifecycle growth – helping new users form habits on our platform, encouraging existing users to try new use cases and product types, and highlighting valuable features to all users who aren’t taking advantage of them (e.g. membership in our IC+ subscription program, discounts from retailer loyalty programs, etc).
About The Job
Use data to uncover lifecycle opportunities
Use data‑driven insights to identify which experiences are most compelling for which users at which moments.
Envision and ship lifecycle experiences across channels
Work with marketing, design, and engineering to envision and bring to life end‑to‑end lifecycle experiences, spanning in‑app surfaces, email, and push, that guide users toward higher‑value behaviors (e.g., completing first orders, trying new missions, adopting IC+, linking loyalty, and reordering more often).
Run high‑velocity experimentation
Design and execute a portfolio and drumbeat of experiments across the lifecycle, knowing that not every test will succeed but that with sharp insights and enough shots on goal, value will follow.
Own lifecycle strategy, metrics, and impact
Take full ownership of your lifecycle portfolio: set a clear strategy, define success metrics, and align stakeholders around your roadmap. Balance user experience and business efficiency, driving meaningful improvements in engagement and growth while managing spend and operational complexity.
Champion high‑quality, user‑centric experiences
Inspect proposed consumer experiences using strong product and UX intuition, ensuring the right messages come across and that it is easy and simple for consumers to take action and to feel confident they’re getting the benefits they were promised.
Thrive in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment
Operate in a fast‑paced and constantly changing environment, quickly adapting to new information, pivoting strategies, and continuously iterating based on user and business feedback. Partner closely with design, engineering, data science, and marketing to move from insight → action → impact quickly and repeatedly.
