Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.  Within Toast, the Strategic Finance team is responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company.

We’re seeking a Senior Manager to partner with our Guest GM to drive initiatives that will shape the future of how restaurant Guests interact with our technology. This is a high-impact Product Finance role that will offer substantial senior leadership exposure and growth potential, as well as the opportunity to influence the future of the strategy through white-space projects.

A day in the life (Responsibilities)

Serve as the Finance business partner to key decision makers for the Guest teams, and partner with them on both planning and strategy

Evaluate strategic opportunities for market size, level of effort, profitability and relevance to Toast

Develop a deep understanding of unit economics within the Guest business to inform decision frameworks related to Guest-facing offers and other initiatives

Collaborate across GTM, R&D, and Business Intelligence to identify and understand complex relationships between key drivers of our business

Design, implement and track important metrics to measure performance against strategic goals, identify emerging trends and provide insights about the drivers of performance

Frame and break down complex problems into key components, analyze large datasets to drive actionable insights

Analyze business results, forecast to actual variances, and trends and communicate important takeaways and actionable insights, including identifying risks and opportunities

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

10+ years of overall experience, with 8+ years of strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or investment banking experience at a high-growth tech company

Advanced Excel skills and the ability to build robust financial models used by teams throughout the company to size opportunities and build business cases for pursuing new initiatives

A commercial mindset with the ability to evaluate new market opportunities and guest-facing initiatives

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success partnering and collaborating with senior stakeholders

Intellectually curious, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires white space thinking

Hungry to win in a dynamic and competitive market segment

Proficiency in SQL or willingness to learn

Nice to haves

Public company Strategic Finance experience

Experience With Saas Forecasting And Kpis

Experience With Consumer Facing Businesses And/or Marketplaces

Working knowledge of Adaptive

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.

In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).
