The Crypto Compliance team focuses on supporting a safe and compliant customer experience while enabling the growth of cryptocurrency products and services. The team works closely with product, legal, and operations partners to maintain strong compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions and evolving regulatory environments.
As a Crypto Compliance AML Senior Manager, you will oversee the compliance program for Robinhood’s Bitstamp British Virgin Islands (BVI) entity, including regulatory, AML, and governance responsibilities. You may also provide general AML support as needed, contributing to scalable compliance processes that support business growth. In this role, you will collaborate with product, operations, legal, and enterprise compliance teams to ensure programs are effective, measurable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
Serve as the designated Chief Compliance Officer for Bitstamp BVI (subject to regulatory approval), with responsibility for the entity’s compliance program
Provide guidance to senior management and the Bitstamp BVI Board by reporting on compliance performance, risks, and key metrics
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements, advising internal teams on compliance obligations and practical implementation
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to meet applicable regulatory standards
Improve operational processes by identifying inefficiencies, introducing automation where appropriate, and tracking performance metrics
What You Bring
7+ years of experience in financial crimes compliance within a regulated financial services environment (e.g., banking, securities, or commodities)
Experience Working With Regulators, Including Familiarity With The Bvi Financial Services Commission
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, JD a plus but not required
CAMS certification
Prior experience in an AML compliance role in the cryptocurrency or blockchain technology sector a must
Solid understanding of cryptocurrency markets and blockchain technology
Experience Managing Projects Collaborating With Technical And Non-technical Teams
Demonstrated ability to scale operations and processes in a fast-paced organization
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills

The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones.
