About The Senior Associate, Health Plan Operations At Headspace
Headspace is seeking a proactive, strategic, and execution-oriented Senior Associate to elevate our payer operations and strengthen how we partner with health plans. This role functions at the intersection of revenue cycle performance, payer contract implementation, and strategic payer program delivery.
You will serve as a strategic partner to RCM leadership by delivering performance insights, supporting process improvements, and driving execution across payer partnership initiatives. You will also contribute to ongoing payer contracting activities, support client-specific network implementations, and act as the program manager for key payer partnership programs.
Success in this role requires strong analytical judgment, project management excellence, clear cross-functional communication, and the ability to translate strategy into high-impact execution.
What you will do
Strategic RCM Project & Reporting
Partner with RCM leadership to monitor performance trends, identify revenue cycle opportunities, and support strategic project planning to improve payer-related outcomes.
Work with Data and RCM teams on developing and maintaining clear performance reporting, dashboards, and trend analyses that surface actionable insights and support decision-making.
Collaborate with Analytics and Finance to reconcile metrics, validate data accuracy, and ensure reporting aligns to organizational KPIs.
Payer Contracting & Network Implementation Support
Support payer contracting activities, including onboarding clinical network agreements and participating in operational readiness planning.
Assist with implementation of payer contracts for strategic employer clients (i.e. Client Specific Networks), ensuring workflows, data needs, and stakeholder expectations are clearly defined and executed.
Track contract deliverables, performance obligations, and operational impacts to downstream functions (e.g., RCM, Clinical Ops, Provider Operations).
Strategic Payer Partnership Program Management
Act as program manager for strategic payer partnership initiatives, driving implementation planning, execution tracking, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Define program success metrics, identify gaps between goals and performance, and coordinate cross-functional remediation plans.
Ensure key stakeholders are aligned, informed, and engaged through structured communications (status, risks, escalations, outcomes).
Support business reviews, payer performance discussions, and continuous improvement cycles with defined action plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Excellence
Partner with Ops, GTM / Health Plan Partnership, Product, Data, Finance, and Clinical teams to align on requirements and execute strategic programs that improve payer experience and operational efficiency.
Document and optimize operational processes, SOPs, and communications to drive consistent and scalable workflows.
Support organizational readiness for system changes, program launches, and iterative improvements by providing training, documentation, and feedback loops.
What success looks like
RCM performance reporting and insights are timely, accurate, and actionable, enabling better strategic decisions.
Payer contracts are operationalized smoothly and consistently, with clear handoffs and minimal disruption to core workflows.
Strategic payer partnership programs are delivered on time, with gaps identified early and remediation plans tracking to measurable outcomes.
Cross-functional partners view Payer Operations as a trusted partner that drives clarity, execution follow-through, and operational improvements.
What you will bring
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, payer relations, revenue cycle, or related functions; healthcare consulting experience highly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfort working with data and communicating insights to varied audiences.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of driving complex initiatives to completion.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, think strategically, and execute with precision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional influence.
Experience Engaging With Payers, Health Plans, Provider Relations, Or Contract Implementation Is Preferred.
Nice To Have
Experience With Rcm Performance Dashboards And Analytic Tools (e.g., Looker, Bi Platforms).
Familiarity with payer contracting, network implementation, and value-based payment models.
Healthcare background in behavioral health, telehealth, or digital health organizations.
Location
We are currently hiring this role remotely in the US and Hybrid for San Francisco (SF). Candidates must permanently reside in the US full-time.
For candidates with a primary residence in the greater SF area, this role will follow our hybrid model. You’ll work 3 days per week from our office, allowing for impactful in-office collaboration and connection, while enjoying the flexibility of remote work for the rest of the week. The anticipated new hire base salary range for this full-time position is
$79,200-$110,000
+ equity + benefits.
Our salary ranges are based on the job, level, and location, and reflect the lowest to highest geographic markets where we are hiring for this role within the United States. Within this range, individual compensation is determined by a candidate’s location as well as a range of factors including but not limited to: unique relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
