About This Role
Faire is building the infrastructure for independent retail and fulfillment is at the center of how we deliver on that promise. As Onsite Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be the primary embedded representative at our warehouse operator partner site, owning the day-to-day performance of the operation and serving as the critical link between Faire and the operator. You'll drive operational excellence, enforce quality standards, manage escalations, and ensure the warehouse runs in a way that reflects Faire's commitments to brands and retailers.
This is a high-accountability, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in fast-paced physical environments and is equally comfortable pulling a root cause analysis as they are building a working relationship with a site general manager.
What you’ll do
Drive Operational Excellence
— onsite owner of day-to-day fulfillment performance; monitors SLAs end-to-end, runs daily/weekly operator reviews, benchmarks KPIs, and leads continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma.
Own Fulfillment Quality
— conduct quality audits across workflows; maintains scorecards on performance; drives root cause analysis and corrective action plans to closure with the operator
Manage Escalations
— primary point of contact for all operational issues from the warehouse operator and Faire's internal teams; triages, drives resolution, and maintains a structured escalation log with transparent updates to leadership.
Build the Operator Relationship
— trusted, collaborative partner to warehouse GM and floor leadership; runs weekly business reviews, flags structural risks (capacity, staffing, tech gaps) proactively, and holds the operator accountable without being adversarial.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics operations, including 2+ years in an on-site, embedded, or senior floor leadership role
Direct experience managing or overseeing 3PL/operator relationships at scale
Proven track record improving operational KPIs (throughput, accuracy, on-time rates) in a high-volume fulfillment environment
Familiarity with WMS platforms, order management systems, and fulfillment tech stacks
Strong data fluency — comfortable pulling reports, building scorecards, and using data to drive decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication; can translate operational complexity to executive audiences and collaborate effectively at all levels of an operator organization
Experience Leading Or Facilitating Root Cause Analysis And Corrective Action Processes
Preferred
Experience At Or Managing Vendor Relationships With Large-scale Fulfillment Operators
Lean / Six Sigma certification or demonstrated application of CI methodologies
Background in marketplace or B2B fulfillment contexts (wholesale, multi-brand, fragmented SKU environments)
Exposure to both WMS-light (operator-managed) and WMS-heavy (platform-integrated) environments
Salary Range
Chicago: The pay range for this role is $
130,500
to $
179,500
per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Please note: This role is 100% in-person and requires full-time, on-site attendance at our Elwood, Illinois facility.
Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday).
Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
