Come Build What’s Next
We're looking for a Director of Education Sales to personally build, close, and grow partnerships with K–12 school districts, state education agencies, and higher education institutions.
This is a senior individual contributor sales role not a people management position. You will independently own an assigned territory, create new institutional relationships, navigate complex education sales cycles, and expand partnerships over time.
We are looking for someone with direct education sales experience who understands how districts, agencies, and institutions evaluate and purchase programs, services, and technology. You should be equally comfortable opening a new relationship, presenting to a superintendent or state education leader, navigating procurement and funding requirements, negotiating a multi-year agreement, and maintaining an accurate sales forecast.
What You’ll Do
Build and execute a territory strategy by identifying priority school districts, state agencies, and higher education institutions, developing target-account plans, and personally creating new sales opportunities
Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through solution design, proposal development, pricing, negotiation, contracting, and close
Develop trusted relationships with superintendents, academic leaders, district administrators, state education officials, procurement teams, and other executive stakeholders
Win new institutional customers while expanding existing relationships through additional programs, multi-year agreements, renewals, upsells, and cross sells
Maintain a disciplined, forecast-ready pipeline in Salesforce or HubSpot, with clear visibility into deal progress, risks, next steps, expected revenue, and territory performance
Partner with Marketing, Account Management, Legal, Finance, Operations, and other internal teams to support successful launches, strong partner outcomes, and long-term account growth
What You’ll Bring
Seven or more years of experience in enterprise education sales, business development, or strategic partnerships within K–12 education, educator certification, professional development, higher education, or EdTech
Direct experience personally selling programs, services, or technology to K–12 school districts, state Departments of Education or other education agencies, and/or higher education institutions
A demonstrated record of personally sourcing and closing complex, six-figure-plus institutional agreements involving multiple decision-makers and extended sales cycles
Success winning new logos and expanding existing accounts through renewals, multi-year agreements, upsells, cross-sells, or additional program adoption
Knowledge of district and public-sector purchasing processes, including procurement, RFPs, school board approvals, grants, philanthropic programs, and state or federal funding sources
Strong executive communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, along with experience independently owning a territory, quota, pipeline, and forecast. Proficiency with Salesforce, HubSpot, or a similar CRM and willingness to travel up to 25% are required
Tools and Sales Methodologies You May Use
Experience with every tool or methodology below is not required. We are most interested in your ability to independently manage complex education sales cycles, maintain a disciplined pipeline, and build trusted relationships with institutional decision makers.
Salesforce, HubSpot, or a similar CRM
LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Outreach, or comparable prospecting tools
Forecasting, reporting, and pipeline-management platforms
Proposal, presentation, and contract-management tools
MEDDICC, MEDDPICC, Challenger, Sandler, Solution Selling, Miller Heiman, or a similar sales methodology
AI productivity, research, and sales-enablement tools
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Own a meaningful territory and personally shape growth, its relationships with school districts, state agencies, and higher education institutions
Build partnerships that help educators access certification, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
Work directly with senior education leaders to understand their challenges and develop solutions that support their schools, educators, and communities
Manage the full sales process rather than handing opportunities off after the first conversation
Have the independence to develop your territory strategy while partnering with experienced colleagues across Marketing, Account Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations
Join a mission driven organization where your judgment, relationships, and ability to build new business will have a visible impact
We Encourage You to Apply
You may not check every preferred box, and that is okay!! You may come from K–12 education, educator certification, professional development, higher education, EdTech, workforce development, or another closely related environment where you have sold complex programs or services to institutional customers. However, this role does require direct education sales experience and someone who is currently comfortable working as a hands on individual contributor. If your recent experience has primarily involved managing sales teams, overseeing partnerships others originated, supporting account relationships, or developing strategies that others execute, this may not be the right opportunity. If you enjoy building a territory, opening new relationships, navigating complex institutional buying processes, negotiating meaningful agreements, and growing partnerships over time, we would love to hear from you.
